The Challenge

The Better Evidence Donation Application system, built seven years ago using Python, processes over 11,000 monthly applications from healthcare workers across 185 countries seeking free access to UpToDate clinical decision support tools. The original system required extensive manual verification, resulting in two-month processing delays.

Our Approach

Usiku Games leads strategy, product design, and AI engineering for platform modernization. The technical components include:

  • Magic Link Authentication (Twilio Verify)
  • AI Website Validation (OpenAI for clinic verification)
  • AI Program Aim Essay Analysis (plagiarism and AI content detection)
  • AI Employment Verification (OCR, document intelligence, geolocation)
  • Intelligent clinic/facility matching
  • Bidirectional API integration with UpToDate
  • Impact reporting dashboard with AI querying

Impact

The program has distributed over 300,000 subscriptions to clinicians serving vulnerable communities globally since 2009. The modernized platform will significantly reduce processing time while improving verification accuracy.
